Overview:
Avalon Express are seeking a full time, highly skilled, detail-oriented, and organized individual to join our team as an Accountant & Controller. As an Accountant & Controller, you will be responsible for billing and receivables, and the accounting for multiple businesses.
This is a vital role in our organization, as it directly impacts the efficiency of our entire operations.
This position is in office only
Responsibilities:
– Billing and Receivables for Avalon Express Shipments
-Billing and Receivables for Avalon Express Lot & Trailer Rentals
– Manage and maintain complete financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations for multiple businesses and locations.
– Prepare and process invoices and payments accurately and in a timely manner.
– Monitor cash flow and ensure proper allocation of funds.
– Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including financial statement preparation.
– Balance financial records and check for inaccuracies.
– Check for major financial issues.
– Forecast revenue and analyze profit margins.
– Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable.
– Prepare annual, quarterly or monthly financial statements.
– Conduct periodic audits to guarantee accuracy in financial records, expenses, and savings.
– Regularly brief management on the company’s financial position and recommend solutions to improve results.
– Develop and implement effective accounting policies and processes.
– Ensure you remain up-to-date on industry changes and changes in regulations.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
– Public accounting experience and CPA preferred
– 5 Years of Accouning & Controller experience in a similar role preferred
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy
– Ability to analyze complex financials and be able to understand accrued payroll in the financial statements
– Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
– Proficient computer skills, including experience with inventory management systems
– Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and financial concepts
– Ability to perform general ledger reconciliation and financial analysis
– Understanding of budgeting processes and basic debits/credits principles
– Problem-solving skills.
– Verbal and written communication skills.
– Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
– Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment;
– Transportation industry experience is a plus.

Pay: $72,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
